NGO Educational Trust
The 2011 NGOET and Spider’s Appeal COMPETITION FOR SCHOOLS

Art Judge:- Paul Hopkins a professional landscape artist and owner of Stoneway Gallery, Bridgnorth in Shropshire commented:- "I was most impressed by the quality of some of the work entered in this competition and everyone who took part should be congratulated on their work. It really was extremely difficult to decide on the winner and near winners, however the picture I eventually chose as winner, painted by 7yrs 7mnth old James Buchanan, really encapsulated the theme and looking at the picture it did feel like a winters day, well done James"

Verse Judge:-Ian McMillan, the Bard of Barnsley and senior judge commented:- "The winning poem, written by 10 year old Harry Evans, uses an economy of language to create a wintry mood and emotion. The writer has used form in a very clever way and hasn't deviated from it throught the poem like some people do."

In Judging the overall winner Ian McMillan commented:_ "James Buchanan's winning piece of Art really gave me an image of nature in winter; the piece was technically very well drawn and painted and managed to convey emotion and a sense of impending cold."
