NGOET Roadshows - Glynliffon and Rhug

The NGO Educational Trust Roadshow team were once again on duty at the Countryside Day held annually at Glynliffon College, North Wales on the 27th June. Pupils from local schools made up 8 groups during the day to see displays on Falconry, Fishing, Gundogs and hear presentations on Red Squirrels, Gamekeeping and all had a walk around the college animal park.

This is the only presentation the Educational Trust do in a classroom environment but it is very successful with the schoolchildren and their teachers becoming quite involved in the discussions. Unfortunately on this occasion due to regulations we were not allowed to take any photographs which included children.

July 7th and 8th saw the NGO Educational Trust spend a blisteringly hot weekend at the Rhug Estate North Wales, luckily we were in a large building which sheltered us from the very hot temperatures outside.

This is the second year we have attended this event has been held at this popular venue and once again there was a good attendance in spite of the fact that England were playing a world cup match on the Saturday afternoon. Not the most people we have had looking at the display and discussing the issues around the profession but nevertheless we had some quite interesting conversations with both supporters and non-supporters especially around the plight of the waders in Wales.
