Spernal Estate - Country Trust Children's Day

The Educational Trust at Spernal Estate 10th / 11th September

The Educational Trust roadshow was in Warwickshire this week representing the gamekeeping profession at a 'Country Trust' children's day held on Spernal Estate near Alcester.

In lovely weather the groups of children and teachers from a Birmingham school listened intently to the presentation and were fascinated to see the taxidermy on display. It was encouraging that some of the children, even though quite young, were really knowledgeable about the countryside and were able to answer a wide variety of questions.

Spernal, once a major sporting estate, is now part of the 'Heart of England Forest' with many acres of newly planted hard woods and wild flower areas covering the estate.
