Woodcock Watch Lesson Plans

Lesson Plans and Activity Book

The NGO ET is delighted to add a another series of lesson plans and an accompanying workbook for the Woodcock Watch educational resource.

This third series of lesson plans, created by Nicola Sutton, provides fellow teachers with the guidance to make the best use of the Game & Wildlife Conservancy Trust resources about the migration of Woodcock across Europe. Nicola's work has provided the important link between our fact-filled resources and the classroom, making it easier for teachers to utilise those resources in a way that meets the demands of the National Curriculum.

The lesson plans guide teachers and students alike on a journey of exploration into this engaging species. Students will learn about the Woodcock's life-cycle, habitat and migration routes. Furthermore, through the G&WCT website, the lesson plan encourages students to follow individual satellite-tagged birds as the fly through the countries of Europe.

Nicola will continue to work with the NGO ET to produce further lesson plans for our other teaching resources.
